AI IMPACT ON THE 21ST CENTURY BIOLOGY
Admin / January 24, 2023
Electronic computers have shaped the statistical development and transformed the biological researches of the 20th century. Similarly, Artificial Intelligence has done almost the same impact on the 21st century biology. The evolution of AI technology is on its way to establishing new ways to allow scientists and researchers to able to answer deep biological questions; which seem impossible to be answered.
Questions and inquiries that are integrated across almost all areas: organisational, spatial and temporal.
Firstly, there’s the discovery and assembly of biological knowledge. Researchers have been spending countless hours doing research on various data sources in order to gather information; which is relevant to a specific research question. However that can is never as easy task, as the data volume continues to grow and expand at exponential rates, which means having to look over new material and published literature very often and add consider those new findings.
Of course that means the research will continue to take time and this is quite frustrating as the task becomes much more difficult. As a matter of fact, data assembly, comprehensive collection and integration as well as analyzing published sources of data even with modest scales is proven to be nearly impossible; there’s just too much information.
AI-driven data generation however gives us a glimmer of hope; as integrating of the spectrum that is of data and sources can in fact withhold these insane amounts of input. AI can utilize various new techniques of data assembly and collections. These techniques include: text mining, semantic analysis, prediction of missing links and hierarchical knowledge graphs.
AI powered engines can be able to harness every bit of information and predict accurate results for the researchers. Developing a system that aids researches by retrieving all the possible data regarding a scientific question, will be the answer to all our present day problems. These technologies can organise and retrieve all relevant data, which means a long time saved for the researcher, they require human supervision but they will save huge amounts of time and energy. AI is the next step of information discoveries as it simply has the potential.
